Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, announced on Tuesday that audio and video calls would soon be available on the platform.

Musk promised in a tweet that voice and video chat from your handle to anyone on this platform will be available shortly.

So you don’t have to give people your phone number to talk to them anywhere in the world.

Musk said that the WhatsApp messaging service run by Meta “cannot be trusted” in a following tweet.
Twitter’s messaging function would face competition from a number of free competitors like Messenger, Signal, Telegram, and WhatsApp.

According to Musk, Twitter will begin encrypting direct communications on the network on Wednesday, scrambling the contents to protect privacy.
