Twitter Co-Founder and CEO, Jack Dorsey is expected to move to Ghana in the coming weeks as preparations to setup the company’s Africa headquarters begin to take shape.
This was made known by Ghana’s Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful in a radio interview in Accra.
According to Owusu-Ekuful, the temporary relocation is to enable Dorsey facilitate other operations of Twitter across the continent.
Ekuful disclosed Jack will be based in Accra while he visits the other countries on the continent. She hopes his friends would follow suit and see what Jack finds so special about Accra.
“And they will enjoy it and love it here so that their businesses will also follow them here because when they see the fine country we have, and the very knowledgeable young people, excited about the opportunity and will take advantage of it,” she adds.
It is expected that the establishment of Twitter’s HQ in Accra will further open up foreign direct investment into the country.
