The bodies of two men were discovered in the landing gear compartment of a JetBlue aircraft following a flight from New York to Florida, the airline reported on Tuesday.
The remains of these individuals, whose identities have not yet been revealed, were found on Monday during a standard inspection after the plane arrived in Fort Lauderdale, according to JetBlue.
The airline stated that they are looking into the identities of the individuals and how they managed to access the landing gear compartment of the Airbus aircraft that travelled from JFK Airport in New York.
JetBlue did not provide any details on the flights this specific plane operated before it arrived in the United States. At times, undocumented migrants try perilous journeys in the landing gear compartments of commercial jets.
On December 24, a corpse was discovered in a similar compartment of a United Airlines plane that flew from Chicago to Maui, one of the Hawaiian islands.
