Two female students lost their lives on Friday morning in a horrific motor accident along the Felele axis of the Lokoja-Abuja highway in Kogi State.
The accident occurred when a heavily loaded articulated vehicle, en route to Abuja, lost control and crashed into a tricycle, locally known as Keke Napep, which was carrying passengers heading towards Lokoja town.
An eyewitness reported that the deceased were students from Federal University Lokoja and Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja. At the scene of the accident, an identification card belonging to one of the victims, Covenant Omolola Isaac of the Department of Geology at Federal University Lokoja, was recovered.
The bodies of the victims were transported to Specialist Hospital Lokoja by officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission.
