Tyla Cancels All Tour Dates Due to Injury

Grammy-winning artist Tyla has made the difficult decision to cancel all her international tour dates and festival appearances, citing a serious injury as the reason. Last month she made history by becoming the youngest African to win a Grammy Award.
The South African-born sensation, known for her hit song “Water,” had been eagerly anticipated to kick off her two-continent Tyla Tour in Oslo on March 21, with plans to traverse through major European cities such as Stockholm, Copenhagen, Berlin, and London, among others. Subsequently, she was slated to embark on the North American leg of her tour, commencing in San Francisco on April 22 and spanning 18 concert venues, including stops in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, and Toronto.

One of the highly anticipated events on her schedule was the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, where she was set to share the stage with headliners like Lana Del Rey, Tyler the Creator, and Doja Cat. However, Tyla’s heartfelt message to her fans expressed her devastation at having to cancel due to a worsening injury that she had been silently battling for the past year. Despite seeking medical advice and treatment, the severity of her condition left her with no choice but to prioritize her long-term health and safety.

In her statement to her fans, affectionately known as “My Tygers,” Tyla expressed her gratitude for their unwavering support and promised to return to the stage during the summer (South African winter). Despite her frustration at this setback in her burgeoning career, she assured her fans that she and her team were diligently working on creating a spectacular show for their eventual reunion.

She said:
”My Tygers,
All of you know that this moment you have all helped me transform into a reality, has been a life-long dream. I am so grateful and humbled by this past year and the way it’s changed my life I can never thank you guys enough for all your loving support, all the joy, the laughter, and the wins!
As much as this is something I would rather have dealt with privately, Its important that I share what I have to share with you today. For the past year I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened. I’ve seen doctors and specialists with high hopes but the pain has only become more agonizing as has the severity of the situation”

Tyla’s recent historic win as the youngest African to clinch a Grammy in the Best African Music Performance category marked a significant milestone in her career. With her self-titled debut album set to release on March 22, featuring tracks like “Water” and “Truth or Dare,” her fans eagerly awaited her next musical chapter.

Acknowledging the disappointment her fans may feel, Tyla assured ticket holders for North American headline dates of automatic refunds, while those in other territories would be contacted by their respective ticket providers for further instructions. Despite the setback, Tyla’s unwavering commitment to her fans and her determination to overcome this obstacle only solidified her position as a rising star in the music industry.
