Ladan Bosso, the head coach of the Flying Eagles, is disappointed at his team’s elimination from the Argentina 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Flying Eagles were eliminated from the competition after Sunday’s quarterfinal loss to South Korea, which was decided by a score of 1-0.
The game was settled by Seok-Hyun Choi’s extra-time goal after regulation time had concluded without a goal.
Bosso claimed in a post-game interview that his team was penalised for their wastefulness in front of goal.
“We tried our best but it wasn’t good enough,” Bosso said. “Our finishing wasn’t good. But you can see we’ve left a group of players for the federation to build on.”
The Italian Gli Azzurrini will now square off against the Korean Republic in the semifinal.
