Ugandan authorities have arrested a suspected Allied Democratic Forces, ADF, rebel group recruiter and coordinator Abdallah Kabanda Musa.
Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said the ADF leader popularly called Mogo, was arrested in central Uganda while allegedly plotting attacks against security agencies and prominent individuals.
He said a loaded rifle, 11 mobile phones and a computer storage device with “radical materials” were recovered in a raid on the suspect’s home.
He is suspected of being a member of the cell that plotted attacks on Kampala’s central police station in November of last year, according to security agencies.
Following the attacks, the Ugandan army crossed the border into the Democratic Republic of Congo to confront rebels associated with the Islamic State (IS).
