Unknown gunmen have taken the life of Eze Mmirioma, the traditional ruler of Aboh Mbaise in Imo state, on Monday, July 17.
According to reports, the assailants shot the monarch at approximately 3 pm local time. He was immediately rushed to Ndubuisi Hospital within the community, where doctors later confirmed his demise.
ASP Henry Okoye, the spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the incident stating that “The Commissioner of Police, Imo State, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde strongly condemns the heinous killing of Eze Mmirioma, a Traditional Ruler in Aboh Mbaise. The ruler lost his life while undergoing medical treatment at Ndubuisi Hospital after being shot multiple times in his residence by unknown gunmen. To ensure justice is served, a highly capable investigative team has been assembled to probe this case and apprehend the culprits responsible for this despicable act.”
