Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, is a prominent Nigerian cook who broke the previous Guinness World Record at 7:46 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023.

After reaching the 87 hours and 50 minutes mark, she is on track to break the Guinness World Record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual” with her accomplishment.

She only began working as a chef in 2020, yet she has already established a lucrative brand for herself called @Myfoodbyhilda.

Early Life and Age

Hilda was born in Akwa Ibom State on September 20, 1996. She began her journey from grass to grace as a multitalented Nigerian TV producer, actress, and head cook at FoodbyHilda.

Education, Career and Business

Hilda studied sociology at Madonna University in Okija, Nigeria, before starting out in the food industry. Her desire to teach others about cooking and her love of food inspired her to establish her own business, which at first had just one location.

As the CEO and head chef of @Myfoodbyhilda, Hilda has earned a reputation for delivering scrumptious and nutritious meals made with ingredients that are obtained locally. She has a devoted following of clients and fans thanks to her inventive culinary methods and imaginative presentation.

Her mother’s cooking methods served as inspiration for Hilda’s love of cooking. Her talent for cooking brought her to the television industry, where she debuted with the cookery feature “In My Kitchen” on the morning show, Morning Rave on Rave TV. She also hosted the Pop Central Television show “Dine on a Budget,” where she interviewed celebrities about hot topics and entreated them to good meals.

Hilda opened her first high-end fast-food restaurant in June 2022 and catered to an enormous number of customers. Also, she has demonstrated her acting talent in a variety of films and soap operas, such as Dream Chaser, which was nominated for Best Movie at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

About Guinness World Record

Guinness World Records, originally the Guinness Book of Records, the ultimate authority on record-breaking achievements, started out as an idea for a book of facts to solve arguments in pubs. Norris and Ross McWhirter, twin brothers, co-founded the book in August 1955 on Fleet Street in London.

In 2019, a chef from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, named Lata Tandon broke the previous record by continuously cooking for 87 hours and 45 minutes. Rickey Lumpkin of Los Angeles, California, USA, previously held the record for the longest cooking marathon with a time of 68 hours, 30 minutes, and 1 second.

Hilda broke the previously set records in a cook-a-thon, which began on May 11 and will end on May 14, featuring a live-streamed show on multiple social media channels where Hilda will make over 250 recipes.
