Renowned US actress Jenifer Lewis, famed for her role in the comedy series Black-ish, recently opened up about her harrowing experience following a 3-meter (10-foot) fall from a hotel balcony in Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park back in November 2022.
Reflecting on the incident in an interview with the US-based website TMZ, Lewis recounted how she inadvertently fell from a dimly lit balcony while attempting to access the infinity pool on the deck below, resulting in injuries to her right hip and shoulder.
Following the accident, Lewis was swiftly airlifted to Nairobi, Kenya, where she received treatment at a hospital. In a heartfelt video interview, the actress expressed her profound gratitude to the staff at Aga Khan University Hospital, acknowledging their exceptional care and compassion during her time of need.
Describing the hospital staff’s attentive assistance, Lewis emotionally recounted how they handled her with utmost care, likening their support to being cradled like a baby. She also appreciated the small gestures of kindness, such as having her hair braided and receiving an additional piece of chicken.
Despite the ordeal, Lewis chose to keep her fall private until now, emphasising her primary focus on recuperating before sharing her journey with the public.
“I wanted to ensure I was back on my feet before revealing my fall to you all,” she explained, highlighting her determination to overcome adversity.
