Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has admitted that he has no idea whether he will remain at Anfield beyond this season. The 33-year-old centre-back is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and has yet to secure a new deal with the Premier League leaders.
Although talks have been ongoing, Van Dijk conceded he could not guarantee his future at Liverpool. “I still have no idea at the moment. Genuinely,” he said after Liverpool’s Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday. “If anyone says they do know, they are lying to your face.”

With Liverpool currently 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League and preparing for a League Cup final against Newcastle on Sunday, Van Dijk is focused on finishing the season strong rather than worrying about contract discussions. “There are 10 games to go and that is my full focus,” he added.
The defender also expressed confidence that Liverpool would bounce back from their 4-1 penalty loss to PSG, reflecting on the importance of learning from tough moments. “There are two big prizes we can still get. We are going to give it everything,” Van Dijk stated, as the team looks ahead to Wembley.
