Many worshippers are feared dead after an explosion rocked the St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Owo town, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State capital on Sunday.
The explosion, reportedly occurred on the church premises while the mass was going on.
The incident caused pandemonium in the area as residents in the community fled for safety.
Another source said it was some gunmen that allegedly attacked the church and killed worshippers.
Some dead bodies were seen soaked with blood in the church in a viral video. It was gathered that the fatalities were no fewer than 50. They have been moved out of the church with many casualties lying at the Federal Medical Center, Owo, for medical attention.
