Supporters of the removed Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, gathered at the assembly complex on Thursday in a show of solidarity.
Videos and images circulating on social media showed the crowd holding placards and chanting in support of Obasa at the entrance of the building.
Earlier in the day, Obasa reportedly arrived at the assembly complex accompanied by security personnel and made his way into the Speaker’s Office at around midday.
The situation unfolded shortly after security aides assigned to the current Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, were withdrawn.
