Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully intercepted illicit shipments of skunk, cleverly concealed within tins of tomato paste, and methamphetamine concealed in second-hand clothing intended for export to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
According to a statement issued by the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the skunk hidden within tins of tomato paste, weighing 20.00 kilograms, was discovered on Friday, 8th September, at the SAHCO export shed of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja. Simultaneously, a separate methamphetamine shipment, with a gross weight of 1.60kg, was apprehended at a courier company in Lagos.
Additionally, NDLEA officers from the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI), affiliated with courier firms, intercepted another consignment weighing 556 grams of Canadian Loud that was sent from Canada to Tunji Adebayo in Ikorodu, Lagos. Unfortunately, Adebayo was not present at his residence on 52 Aina Atoloye Street, Ikorodu, when the operatives arrived. Nevertheless, he instructed his younger brother to accept the package on his behalf, leading to the immediate arrest of the brother.
