In the early hours of Friday, September 22, an undisclosed number of students from the Federal University of Gusau were abducted by suspected bandits. Reports indicate that a significant group of armed bandits infiltrated the Sabon-Gida community, located in the Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, at around 3 a.m., unleashing indiscriminate gunfire.
The bandits targeted three student hostels during their attack, forcibly taking away the students.

“They entered the town at approximately 3 a.m. and began firing indiscriminately,” stated a witness. “As for the exact number of students who have been kidnapped, it remains unconfirmed. The kidnappers entered three hostels and took all the students, making it challenging to determine their precise count.”
At the time of reporting, neither the school authorities nor the state police command has issued any official statements regarding the incident.
