A Kenyan wildlife conservation charity, successfully rescued a tanker driver who was trapped inside an overturned truck on the Galana-Kulalu causeway after being washed away by floods. The incident occurred during heavy rains in the area, which resulted in the flooding of the causeway and subsequent washing away of the tanker.
The driver, who was lucky to escape, remained stuck inside the overturned truck for more than six hours, calling for help from nearby residents. Fortunately, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was alerted about the incident and quickly dispatched a team of pilots to the scene. Using their expertise in aerial wildlife conservation, the pilots were able to locate the truck and the stranded driver.
After assessing the situation, the pilots worked with local authorities to coordinate the rescue mission. The operation was not without its challenges as the area was still heavily flooded, and the truck was located in a precarious position. Nevertheless, the pilots were able to successfully airlift the driver to safety using a helicopter.
The driver was then taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, where he was treated for minor injuries sustained during the ordeal. The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust team was commended for their quick response and professionalism in executing the rescue mission.
