Two-time former racing cyclist champion Jonas Vingegaard will lead the Visma-Lease a Bike team in this year’s Tour de France, the Dutch outfit announced on Tuesday.
Vingegaard, a 28-year-old Dane who won the Tour in 2022 and 2023, will be joined by versatile rider Wout van Aert as they aim to unseat reigning champion Tadej Pogacar.
The full Visma-Lease a Bike squad also includes Matteo Jorgenson, Simon Yates, Sepp Kuss, Tiesj Benoot, Victor Campenaerts, and Edoardo Affini. This year’s Tour de France is set to commence on July 5 in Lille and conclude on July 27 in Paris.

Grischa Niermann, Visma’s head of racing, expressed confidence in the team’s composition and strategy. “With these eight very strong riders, we believe in the plan we made for the Tour de France,” he stated.
Niermann emphasised the team’s need to support Vingegaard optimally for the General Classification from the very start, adding, “We have an optimal preparation behind us, and with that, we think we can get the best possible result.”
