Head Coach Randy Waldrum has named 18 players, including captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defender Michelle Alozie, and forward Asisat Oshoala, in his final list of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, who will participate in the Women’s Olympic Football event in France.
Squad members currently on holiday in Nigeria will depart Abuja with their home-based colleagues and team officials for Spain on Thursday night. The rest of the team and technical team will arrive at the training camp on Friday.
Nine-time African champions Nigeria, making their first appearance at the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament for the first time in 16 years, will play Brazil, Spain, and Japan in this year’s tournament.
Their first game, against Brazil, will be at the Stade Bordeaux on 25 July before they face Spain (28 July) and Japan (31 July).
