War Death Toll in Hamas-Run Gaza Hits 40,334

Israeli Airstrike in Central Gaza Kills 18

The health ministry in Gaza, under Hamas control, reported on Saturday that at least 40,334 people have been killed from Israeli bombardments, which has entered the 10th months.

The latest figures include 69 deaths over the past 48 hours and 93,356 injuries in the Gaza Strip since the conflict began with the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7.

Recall that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed calls to end the military campaign against the Gaza Strip, asserting that the conflict will continue for the foreseeable future.

He said his goal is to “destroy Hamas’s military capabilities and its ability to govern, and most importantly, to restore the principle of deterrence.”

Netanyahu said, “Our goal is to achieve a decisive victory to the extent that Hamas does not pose any threat to Israel.”

Despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, Israel sustained its brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip following an attack by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas last October 7.

An ongoing blockade of Gaza has led to severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine, leaving much of the region in ruins.

Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which has ordered a halt to military operations in the southern city of Rafah, where over one million Palestinians had sought refuge before the area was invaded on May 6.
