WhatsApp Back Online After Two-Hour Outage

WhatsApp Back Online Following Two-Hour Outage That Left Users Stranded (News Central TV)

Following a two-hour outage during which users were unable to send or receive messages, WhatsApp is again operational once more.

Users around Africa were impacted by the issues, which began at 8.20am. Attempting to use the app, News Central was unable to send or receive messages or photos.

The firm that owns WhatsApp, Meta, stated during the outage: “We’re aware that some users are now having problems sending messages.

Since the service was affected by a significant outage that also affected Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Oculus, and Instagram last year, this was the first significant outage to affect WhatsApp.

When WhatsApp went offline in 2021, it took almost six hours for the problem to be fixed. That significant disruption, according to Meta, then known as Facebook, was caused by a router configuration change.

Even though WhatsApp outages are still relatively infrequent, they have a significant impact on global communications because more than two billion people use the app each month.
