The World Health Organisation (WHO) has made a donation of trauma kits to the Plateau state government to assist victims of the Christmas eve attack in the state.
Musa Mahdi, WHO’s Coordinator in Plateau, presented the kits, emphasising that the donation aligns with WHO’s mandate of supporting the government in addressing humanitarian crises.
The trauma kits contain over 60 pieces of equipment each, capable of conducting more than 200 procedures and providing assistance to over 100 individuals with severe injuries. Mahdi highlighted that these kits are crucial for responding to health emergencies and the immediate medical needs of displaced persons.
Dr. Cletus Shirkuk, the Commissioner for Health in Plateau, expressed gratitude for the donation and assured that the items would be effectively utilised. He urged other groups and individuals to contribute to the state’s efforts to meet the humanitarian needs of displaced persons.
