Man City coach Pep Guardiola has revealed why his team could not defeat Chelsea during their Sunday English Premier League showdown.
The teams clashed at Stamford Bridge, home to Chelsea, in an entertaining encounter, which ended in a 4-4 draw with Manchester City unable to defeat the host.
Man City conceded goals from Chelsea’s Thiago Silva, Raheem Sterling, Nicolas Jackson, and Cole Palmer, while the visitors had Erling Haaland (2), Manuel Akanji, and Rodri balance the weight.
During his post-match press conference, Guardiola said the inability of his team to defeat Chelsea was because Pochettino’s team was in good form, hence the match was “tight”.
“I don’t remember a game where we came here to get the chances we had. A million times much worse than today, when we won 0-1,” Man City coach said.
“Their shape is really good. It happens, give credit to both teams and Pochettino will give analysis about his team. It was tight. A fair result.”
The Man City boss added: “The quality they are, they push you to another level to make decisions. Right now, I think it’s a fair result.”
Man City currently tops the EPL table after the draw

Just before leaving the news conference following Chelsea and Manchester City’s 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge, Guardiola asked, “Did you have fun?” with a smile on his face.
Guardiola repeatedly stated, “It’s Chelsea,” during the press conference.
Football fans, especially Chelsea supporters, have been in awe of the fine display on Sunday. It was surely a form that has been lost in oblivion all through last season.
