President Bola Tinubu on Thursday night convened a high-level reconciliation meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to address the lingering political tensions in Rivers State.
The closed-door session brought together key actors in the crisis, including Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, Speaker Martins Amaewhule, and members of the State House of Assembly.
Earlier on March 18, President Tinubu had declared a state of emergency in the state, suspending Governor Fubara, his deputy, and the entire Assembly.
