Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike has dismissed claims that building projects for the judiciary implies potential interference by the executive in other arms of government.
Speaking at the flag-off of constructing an office complex of the Nigerian Body of Benchers in Abuja, Wike said it should rather be seen as collaboration and cooperation among all arms of government to foster good governance.
“As we speak today, it is the FCT that is providing the official residence of the legislature as well as the construction of a new National Assembly Complex; it has nothing to do with interference.”
He added that the projects were provided for in the 2023 Supplementary Budget and assured that they would be completed on time and handed over.
“I can assure you that this is not one of those public projects that will be abandoned; this project must be completed in ten months.
He commended President Tinubu for his intervention and support in providing infrastructure for judicial officers to carry out their jobs and responsibilities judiciously.
