American actor Will Smith did not back down from the slap that was witnessed all around the world.
The rapper and actor recently released an album. Smith addresses the 2022 Oscars incident in which he hit comedian Chris Rock in his new song.
When Rock joked about actress Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head while presenting an award, it did not sit well with Smith’s husband. Smith was banned from the Academy Awards for ten years when he approached the stage and slapped Rock.
The song “Int. Barbershop — Day,” from his new album “Based on a True Story,” begins with the words, “Will Smith is cancelled.”
It includes social media influencer B. Simone and DJ Jazzy Jeff, Smith’s longtime partner. The song opens with several voices chatting about Smith.
“I’ve heard that he won the Oscar, but he had to return it. You know that they only forced him to do that because he’s Black,” someone remarks.

Smith won the Oscar for best actor in the same year that he hit Rock for his performance in “King Richard.” (Smith was exempt from returning his prize.)
A different voice can be heard saying, “He and Jada are both crazy; what are you talking’ about? You better keep his wife’s name out of your mouth.” This is a reference to Smith telling Rock to “keep my wife’s name out of your mouth” before entering the stage.
Smith raps on the song, “You Lookin’ For Me?” “Took a lot, I’m back on top/ Y’all are gon’ have to get acclimated/ Won’t stop, my s**t is still hot.”
Smith previously apologised to Rock in public for hitting him, and he later made a video public in which he said he was “deeply remorseful” over the event.
Rock subsequently responded to the assault in a 2023 stand-up show.
