Inaki Williams netted two goals as Athletic Bilbao secured a 2-0 victory at Fenerbahce on Wednesday, propelling them to the top of the Europa League standings.
With five wins and a draw from six matches, Bilbao has accumulated 16 points, leading Lazio and Eintracht Frankfurt by three points as they both have a match scheduled for Thursday.
This marked Athletic’s sixth consecutive win across all competitions, as they departed Istanbul with three points, courtesy of two first-half goals from Ghana international Williams.
Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce is in 15th place in the 36-team table, having gathered eight points.
