Effective 15 November 15, 2021, Jennifer Comalie will become the acting chief executive officer of the City of Windhoek.
This was announcement was contained in a social media post by mayor Job Amupanda.
A chartered accountant by training, Comalie is the city’s strategic executive for finance and customer services. She takes over from George Mayumbelo for a three-month period.
Comalie holds a degree from the University of Stellenbosch as well as the University of South Africa. She started her career at Olthaver & List in June 1998 as a group financial accountant and according to Namcor, where she currently serves as board chairperson, she has 20 years of continuous advancement and expertise in strategy development, implementation, finance and accounting.
The City of Windhoek recently scrapped its recruitment process for a substantive CEO and is expected to restart its hunt for a suitable candidate.
