Nigerian superstar, Wizkid joins heavyweight American musicians on the soundtrack for the upcoming Spider-Man, Across The Spider-verse. This is the latest addition to the Sony pictures & Marvel animation Spider-Man franchise.
Nigeria’s Starboy, Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun is the only African on the international project. The Grammy award-winning singer joins American rappers ASAP Rocky, 21 savage, Offset of Migos trio, Swae Lee, Coi leray amongst others.
The artists on the soundtrack were confirmed by Metro Boomin himself, the American record executive confirmed to be working on the movies soundtrack. Metro Boomin shared a poster representing each of the global stars contributing on the project and confirmed that the project would be released on the 2nd of June 2023 across all streaming platforms, same day as the much anticipated movie.
This is big news for Bigwiz and his global Wizkid FC fan base. The news comes after he recently headlined the Afro Nation festival 2023 in Miami a few days back and thoroughly thrilled fans to a good time.
Although fans would have to wait for Spider man; across the Spider verse to hit cinemas before we can listen to the music, it’s only in a few days. It’s been a great past couple of year for Afrobeats; from Burna boy and Fireboy Dml’s inclusion in the soundtrack of billion dollars hit franchise Black Panther to Ghana’s Black sheriff on the soundtrack for Creed.
