Award-Winning Nigerian Singer Wizkid Makes Madison Square History

International artist, Wizkid, has set a new record at the Madison Square Garden in New York, as the first African to sell out the 20,789-capacity hall in just one month.

Wizkid sells out Madison Square Garden

He takes over from fellow artist Burna Boy, who became the first African artist to sell out the arena in April 2022, but in 3 months.

Wizkid received a plaque to this effect, with a top official at the Madison Square Garden congratulating him for this feat.

The show which held yesterday November 16, wowed fans with songs from the beginning of his discography to his recently released album More Love Less Ego. Wizkid also took time to urge his fans to “always vibrate love, accept love and the good things of life”.

One of the highlights of the show, was a moment dedicated to Davido, as disk jockey DJ Tunes played his song ‘Dami Duro’, saying “Davido we love you, OBO we love you. This one is for Davido, we love you brother”

After the show, American rapper Busta Rhymes stopped backstage to congratulate Wizkid on his sold-out show.
