Afrobeats sensation Wizkid has said that he would’ve been a footballer if he hadn’t pursued a career in music.
In an interview shared by @itzbasito on X, the Grammy Award-winning artist expressed his passion for the sport, noting that football requires discipline to succeed.
Wizkid, who participated in his school’s football team, admitted that his impatience and aversion to early morning training sessions steered him towards concentrating on music instead.
“If I wasn’t doing music, I would be playing football, I play football real good, I used to be in my school team,” he said.
He did mention that he still has a strong admiration for the sport and its requirements.
Wizkid also disclosed his unique strategy for personal security, choosing not to have bodyguards when travelling and instead depending on his small, close team of managers whom he regards as family.
