Ghanaian fans were outraged after Superstar musician Wizkid failed to show up to headline his Accra show despite tweeting about the event hours before. The Afro beats star was scheduled to perform at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, December 10, 2022, alongside R2Bees, King Promise, and other Ghanaian artists.
According to reports Fans of the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer were expecting a two hour long performance, after paying between 3,200Gc ( between $280 and over $2000) for table. Several fans on Twitter waited till morning but were disappointed, citing other issues from bad lighting, poor sound and terrible organisation as more reasons why it was a failed show.
Over 24hrs after, Wizkid has finally made a statement, the Grammy award winning star had this to say
Hopefully this is enough to keep fans at bay, although it is unclear if this complementary show would be free for all GHANAIAN fans or for those who had paid heavy for the failed Accra show.
Meanwhile organizers of the event, LiveHub nation have since released an apology note and promised attendees a refund. Their statement also revealed that “Wizkid breached his contractual obligation”.
