Wolves secured their place in the FA Cup fifth round with a commanding 2-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers on Sunday, scoring twice in under a minute to seal the win.
Vitor Pereira’s side took a welcome break from their Premier League relegation battle, ensuring they did not fall victim to an FA Cup upset against the Championship side at Ewood Park.
Although Wolves currently sit just two points above the drop zone in the top flight and remain focused on survival, they are still in the hunt for their first FA Cup final appearance since winning the competition in 1960.
The deadlock was broken in the 33rd minute when Blackburn’s Todd Cantwell lost possession, allowing Joao Gomes to pounce inside the penalty area. His shot appeared tame, but Blackburn goalkeeper Balazs Toth made a costly error, letting the ball slip past him into the net.

Just 39 seconds later, Wolves doubled their lead emphatically. Nelson Semedo played Matheus Cunha through on goal, and the Brazilian forward unleashed a powerful strike into the far corner, leaving Toth with no chance.
Later on Sunday, Liverpool will look to keep their quadruple hopes alive when they face Plymouth, while Tottenham, under pressure after recent setbacks, will take on Aston Villa in another key FA Cup clash.
Liverpool, who recently thrashed Tottenham in the League Cup semi-final, remain in contention on multiple fronts, leading the Premier League and advancing in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is desperate to avoid another cup exit, with his side still seeking their first silverware of the season.
