The Edo State Police Command has verified the arrest of a woman for allegedly injuring a teenager working in her home.
According to a statement made by Moses Yamu, spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, the woman placed metal objects in the fire to injure the boy.
“On January 11, 2025 at approximately 1945 hours, the Command received a report that one Abigail Oluwarotimi ‘f’, aged 31 years, heated a metal object in fire and used it to inflict burns on her house help, Jude Joseph’m’, aged 15 years.” As a result, the sufferer received injuries to his lap and genitals.
According to the command, the suspect confessed to the crime and was taken into custody right away.
She attributed her behaviour to the boy’s alleged abuse of her kids. The victim is being treated at the moment.
According to the statement, CP Umoru Ozigi, the Commissioner of Police for Edo State Command, expressed worry over the development and directed that the case be transferred right away to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a comprehensive and private investigation.
While stressing the value of letting the law work itself out, the leadership cautioned the public against enforcing laws itself.
