Word Bank Hosts African Leaders in Nairobi for IDA21 Summit

The World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA21) summit is holding in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, with several African leaders in attendance.

Among presidents attending the summit include Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania, Julius Maada Bio (Sierra Leone), Andry Rajoelina (Madagascar), Lazarus Chakwera (Malawi), and Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia.

The two-day summit is expected to address developmental challenges on the continent and fashion out modalities for comprehensive, prosperous, and sustainable economies.

The IDA is part of the World Bank that assists the world’s 75 most economically challenged nations, 39 of which are in Africa.

Also expected at the summit are President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani of Mauritania, Comoros’ Azali Assoumani, and Évariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi.
