Yoro Travels for Man Utd Medical in £50 Million Deal

Lille defender Leny Yoro is flying to the UK for a medical and finalisation of personal terms with Manchester United after a deal worth over £50 million was agreed upon.

Both clubs have already agreed on an initial £52m for the coveted centre-back from Lille. Though Yoro initially preferred to join Real Madrid, the Spanish giants have not indicated a willingness to match the agreed-upon price between United and Lille.

The fact that United were willing to pay more for the defender led the Ligue 1 side to consider entering a deal with United for Yoro. They would rather sell him this summer than risk losing him as a free agent when his contract expires in June 2025.

The teenager is open to the idea of moving to Old Trafford, and the latest developments mark a significant step forward in the situation, but there’s still more work to be done to get over the line.

If all goes to plan, United will secure their primary target to bolster in defence and a player regarded across the game as a generational talent.

The English side is still watching Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, although much depends on the availability of transfer funds and squad departures.
