Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has lashed at the presidency over the news of the country possibly losing revenue over loan to China.
The 37 year old film producer reacted to a news poster saying “China will have access to Ghana’s mineral revenue, electricity sales in default of 4 loans”. Yvonne tweeted at the official account of the President, Nana Akufo-Ado and the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, saying
“Its just unbelievable! Like howwww? You guys can sleep at night?”
The actress joins a section of Ghanaians who are outraged by news of a possible takeover of the country’s mineral and electricity revenue by the Chinese government due to Ghana’s failure to honour its loan agreement as communicated by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
This isn’t the first time Yvonne is using her platform to call out bad governance & advocate for change. In fact, during former President John Dramani Mahama tenure, the award-winning actress championed a ‘Dumsor Must Stop’ charge, to fix the countries power crisis, which was ultimately resolved.
In Yvonne’s recent tweets, she’s called out the ruling party NPP party and its supporters for bullying her online for her comments to the president.
