Popular Zambian musician, Davis Phiri, popularly known as Daev has died after being severely burnt in a road accident.
Daev Zambia is the famous singer behind the hit songs ‘Never been easy’ and ‘Kamba ka love’ and was also part of the XYZ music group.
Daev and three others died in an accident yesterday while one survived with serious injuries.
Police spokesperson, Esther Katongo, revealed in a statement that Daev who was driving the car had four passengers on board.
Katongo said the victim who survived with serious head injuries has not been identified yet.
She said the bodies of the deceased persons are in Mtendere Mission Hospital mortuary.
Meanwhile, police in the country have taken interest in some video clips circulating on social media involving the late musician.
In the video clips that have gone viral on various social media platform’s, two unidentified young women are seen whipping the late musician.
The two women who can visibly be seen, can also be heard forcing the musician to sing one of his songs titled, ‘its never been easy’.
The two women are also heard asking the late Daev Zambia to apologize while a man’s voice could be heard telling the ladies in a sarcastic way to stop whipping him.
And when contacted, police spokesperson Esther Katongo said police had taken interest in the matter.
“Yes, we have watched the videos and we have taken interest in the matter,” Mrs Katongo wrote.
