Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that he would step down from his position if it meant securing NATO membership for Ukraine. He made this remark in response to a question at a news conference.
Zelensky added that remaining in office for a decade is not his “dream” and affirmed that he would relinquish his role if it would bring peace to Ukraine.
His comments come as Russia launched a large-scale drone attack across Ukraine, just a day before the third anniversary of the war.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister cautioned, “No one should trust Putin’s words. Look at his actions instead.”
The latest Russian drone assault was described as unprecedented in scale.
Meanwhile, ahead of the war’s third anniversary, UN Secretary-General António Guterres reaffirmed the “urgent need for a just, sustainable, and comprehensive peace” in Ukraine.
Any peace deal, he stressed, must uphold Ukraine’s “sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.”
“Enough is enough,” Guterres declared. “After three years of death and destruction, I once again call for urgent de-escalation and an immediate end to the hostilities.”
