The 16-year-old actor Hudson Meek, who starred in “Baby Driver,” passed away last week in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, after he fell from a moving car.
The Jefferson County coroner’s office told CNN affiliate WVTM that the teenager died on December 21 from his wounds after being brought to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital after suffering blunt force trauma on December 19.
A message on his Instagram account states, “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
The young actor has several acting and voiceover roles, but most famously portrayed a younger Baby, played by Ansel Elgort, in the 2017 film “Baby Driver.”
Additionally, Meek provided the voice of the lead in “Badanamu Stories,” a children’s programme that explores preschool-appropriate subjects, according to IMDb. In addition, he starred in series including “Found” on NBC, “Legacies” on The CW, and the recently released thriller “The School Duel.”
The teen was a “reflective and thoughtful” traveller and nature enthusiast, according to Meek’s obituary.
According to the obituary, “He loved snow skiing and could easily navigate the hardest trails that no one else in the family would dare attempt.” Wakeboarding and tubing at the lake were two of his favourite activities.
The circumstances surrounding Meek’s death are still being looked into by the Vestavia Hills Police Department, according to WTVM. Police in Vestavia Hills have been contacted by CNN for additional details regarding the incident.
