American rapper Kendrick Lamar, also known by his stage name K.Dot, has wrapped up 2024 in spectacular fashion, securing the top spot on Billboard’s list of the Greatest Pop Stars of the Year.
Andrew Unterberger from Billboard praised Lamar’s exceptional achievements, highlighting the success of his hit track Not Like Us alongside other notable releases this year, which demonstrated his enduring ability to captivate audiences.
“Kendrick Lamar’s 2024 was extraordinary because he didn’t just remind us why he was such a dominant force during his commercial and cultural zenith—he also unveiled sides of himself we had never witnessed before,” Unterberger remarked.
He went on to say that Lamar achieved milestones unmatched by any other rapper this decade, crafting moments of “blunt-force impact” and profound cultural resonance that echoed both through the streets and across the charts.

K.Dot topped a glittering roster of stars on Billboard’s list, with Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, and Jelly Roll completing the top ten. Honourable mentions were given to Drake and Bruno Mars.
The year also celebrated rising and returning talent: Shaboozey was crowned Rookie of the Year, while Hozier was lauded for his inspiring comeback.
Kendrick’s Not Like Us didn’t just dominate Billboard; it also claimed the number one position on Vevo’s Top 10 Hip-Hop Videos chart in the United States.
Meanwhile, GloRilla made a significant impact, securing four spots on the list, including TGIF at #2 and Yeah Glo! at #4, earning her well-deserved acclaim.
