19-year-old Nigerian, Lisha Dachor Attempts Guinness World Record by Painting Nails for Three Days

Lisha Dachor, a 19-year-old Nigerian woman, has undertaken a remarkable challenge by painting over 4,000 nails in a span of 72 hours to break the world record.

Armed with a nail brush, Dachor diligently worked at an events centre in Plateau State, located in northern Nigeria, decorating hundreds of fingernails with shades of blue, pink, and purple varnish.

Her ambitious three-day endeavour concluded with anticipation on Wednesday.

According to Guinness World Record (GWR) guidelines, Dachor’s attempt must meet the requirement of painting 60 fingernails per hour to qualify for the record.

After completing her task, Dachor now awaits the review of her attempt by GWR once she submits her evidence.

Dachor explained that she took on this challenge with the aim of reshaping the perception of young mothers like herself.

“I want to give people hope, especially single mothers, because many people don’t think we have anything to offer,” she told the BBC.

Dachor, who has been a professional nail technician for nearly three years, also hopes to shine a spotlight on women from northern Nigeria through her record attempt. Additionally, she aspires to raise awareness about Plateau, her home state, and highlight its positive aspects.

Plateau, situated at the juncture of Nigeria’s predominantly Muslim north and largely Christian south, comprises diverse communities. Despite enduring years of insecurity and conflict among various ethnic and religious groups, Dachor received support from people of all backgrounds during her record-breaking endeavour.
