Peter Obi, who finished third in Nigeria’s presidential election, claims he is under pressure to leave the nation. Without providing evidence, he asserted that it was part of the government’s effort to “divert attention” from “blatantly stolen” elections.
The presidential election results have already been contested by Obi at Nigeria’s highest appeal court.
He tweeted on Wednesday night, “The attempts to influence Nigerians is terribly sad and terrible.
The presidential race is compared to a holy conflict in an audio clip that has been making the rounds in Nigeria of a purported conversation between Obi and a religious leader. The tape, according to him was a “false doctored audio call.”
”At no point during the campaign or since have I ever said, thought, or even hinted that the 2023 election is, or was, a religious conflict, he said. “Let me clarify that the taped call being shared is phoney,” Obi stated. He added that the media outlet that shared the clip would face legal action from his attorneys.
