Former French league champions LOSC Lille have beaten several other European clubs for the signature of Nigerian teenager Adeshina Ibrahim Ayodele.
The 18-year-old Beyond Limits Football Academy striker was part of the team that defeated Congo’s C.N Brazzaville to become the first African winner of the Viareggio Cup in Italy.
He scored five goals and provided an assist in that tournament, averaging a goal contribution every fifty minutes.
The youngster also helped the Beyond Limits Football Academy win the Nigerian National League play-offs, securing promotion to the Nigerian Professional Football League ahead of next season. They will compete in the Nigerian top tier alongside their parent club, Remo Stars.
Lille has given the green light to the acquisition of Shina Ayodele for the upcoming 2024/2025 season. Although some final details still need to be sorted, the deal is confirmed.
