Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has assured Corps Members that their monthly allowance will be increased in line with the new minimum wage once it is implemented for federal civil servants. This assurance was given during his visits to orientation camps in Kebbi and Sokoto states in Northern Nigeria.
General Ahmed praised the Corps Members for their significant contributions to Nigeria’s socio-economic development and urged them to use their service year to develop vocational skills through the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme. He emphasized that these skills would help them become self-reliant and create jobs for others.
The DG also reassured Corps Members that the NYSC would ensure their safety by not posting them to unsafe areas and advised them to stay security-conscious.
NYSC officials in Kebbi and Sokoto reported high levels of discipline and positive participation in camp activities among the Corps Members.
