President Bola Tinubu has re-assigned the roles of two newly appointed State House media and communications team members to “improve the efficiency of the government’s communication framework”.
In a statement released Monday night, Bayo Onanuga announced that Sunday Dare, who previously served as special adviser on public communication and national orientation, is now the special adviser on media and public communications.
Onanuga also added that Daniel Bwala, introduced last week as a special adviser on media and public communication, will now assume the role of special adviser on policy communication.
“This set of appointments, along with the current role of special adviser on information and strategy, highlights that there is not a single individual spokesperson representing the presidency,” the statement noted.
“Rather, all three special advisers will work together as spokespersons for the government.
“This strategy is designed to guarantee effective and consistent communication regarding government policies, decisions, and activities.”
There had been some misunderstanding as Onanuga, appointed special adviser on communication and strategy, had been acting as the presidential spokesman since the departure of Ngelale Ajuri, who held the position of special adviser on media and publicity.
