Reality TV star Tuoyo Ideh has come out to speak the truth, telling the general public that he lied about being a stripper.
In a long post-Tuoyo shared on Instagram, he revealed that there is more to him. The BBN pepper dem housemate said he had to tell this lie for instant glorification, and it did work as it gained him lots of attention.
On his Instagram page, Tuoyo said he had been advised by some people to go on with the lie, but he said he would not because of his mental health. Explaining that the big brother platform was his biggest shot at fame, and he was ready to do anything just not to ruin his chances, and if lying to make himself feel like he is not who he is, the, so be it.
In his words ” for over a year now, I have been living a lie. Some people have advised me to go on with it but I fear for my mental health and my future so I have chosen to come out. Big brother was my biggest shot at fame and nothing in the world could have stopped me from grabbing it with both hands. but somehow, I felt like I wasn’t enough and I needed to do more and BE more to stay relevant and to get some extra clout”
He went ahead to explain how desperate he was and the measures he took just to get his name on everyone’s lips. However, the pepper dem housemate disclosed that the lie was not sustainable as he could not bear living a lie, he wrote:
“I was desperate, the magnitude of the competition I was going for even made me more desperate so I attached a tag to myself – ”I’m a part-time stripper” I said to the whole world, I got the hype I wanted but it was unsustainable, I couldn’t live up to it because actually, that’s not who I am but because I have the body, I tried to force it, to push if I could keep living the lie to make it become true but the more I did, the more I regretted”
The reality Tv star, who has the body of a stripped had introduced himself as that, and people had known him for that, even while in big brother’s house, he made Friday night really bubbling with his stripping ”techniques”, alongside the ultimate winner of BBN; Mercy.
”I wasn’t deriving any pleasure and in fact, I feel like I was making a fool of myself so I had to stop. And I’m here to say I’m sorry I lied, no one is perfect, my ultimate strategy has turned back to hurt my reputation and my brand.”
Then he reintroduces himself, ”my name is Tuoyo Ideh, AND I AM NOT A STRIPPER. You’ll be meeting the real me very soon. Cheers to a new beginning!!”
This open letter got fans and even his colleagues talking, They applauded him for his courage, comments like, ”There is strength and courage in vulnerability!! proud of you”, and ”the journey of self-realization is a long-distance race… and you just ran a victory lap. God will do the rest” must have at the least encouraged him.
