Angola and Turkey have met in Ankara to analyse the reinforcement of bilateral cooperation in the sector of transport between the two countries.
This was disclosed in a meeting between both incumbent ministers of the transport sector, Ricardo Viegas D´Abreu of Angola and his Turkish counterpart Adil Karaismailoglu
The cooperation focused on the aviation and railway infrastructure, as well as opened opportunities for the Turkish business sector of maritime-port and railway sub-sectors to invest in Angola.
The Angolan Minister spoke of the foreign investment opportunity in the country.
He noted the recently launched international public tender on the modernization and management of the Lobito Port, and another related to Lobito Corridor.
Ricardo D´Abreu described the visit as another milestone in strengthening ties between the countries and expression of assurance that Angola and Turkey might walk together toward building the strategic ties of mutual interest.
Ricardo D´Abreu’s programme includes visits and meetings in Istanbul with the main business groups in the transport and infrastructure sector, with emphasis on the Yapi Merkezi company.
D’Abreu is expected to present the construction Project of surface railway of Luanda, which has been in the pipeline and whose construction requires, among others, competence and investment.
While in Ankara, the Angolan official will hold talks with Turkish Airline representatives.
The Minister is leading a delegation integrated by senior employees of the Angolan Airlines TAAG, National Authority of Civil Aviation and Ministry of Transport.
