Arsenal suffered a 4-1 loss to London rivals Chelsea in the final of the UEFA Europa League in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Gunners had Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in from the start as they started the brighter of the two sides. Things, however, went bad in the second half as the Blues raced into a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud who met Emerson’s pass with a diving header into the net.

Pedro doubled the lead after finding space in the penalty area to stroke in a cut-back from the impressive Eden Hazard. The Belgian soon made it 3-0 from the penalty spot after Ainsley Maitland-Niles fouled Giroud in the box.

Nigerian Winger Alex Iwobi pulled one back for Arsenal two minutes after coming off the bench to make it 3-1. But Arsenal’s faint comeback hopes were dashed as Hazard slotted home Chelsea’s fourth goal to finish the game 4-1.
