The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has relocated into another palace in the ancient town.
Ado Bayero returned quietly to the town in the early hours of Saturday following his dethronement by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
He was sacked alongside other Emirs appointed by his predecessor, Abdullahi Ganduje and ordered them to vacate their palaces within 48hrs and hand over to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair.
Thereafter Governor Yusuf announced the reinstatement of Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, who was deposed by Ganduje in 2020.
On Friday, Sanusi led Jumuat prayers at Government House, Kano.
However, in the early hours of Saturday, Ado Bayero was cheered by a crowd of supporters as he arrived Kano. He then moved into the palace in Nassarawa, fueling confusion.
Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II has since taken over the Gidan Rumfa palace. Security agents have been deployed to both palaces.
