Soldiers have been deployed to the mini-palace of Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, following his dethronement and arrest order by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Governor Yusuf ordered the sacked Emirs to vacate their palaces and hand over within 48hours.

After signing the repealed Kano Emirates Council Law, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II (Karaye), Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa (Rano), Alhaji Nasir Ado Bayero (Bichi), and Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir (Gaya), followed the directives, however, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero (Kano) returned to Kano on Saturday.

The monarch was crowded by teeming supporters after arriving Aminu Kano International airport at 4:30am.

Many of them were chanting the Takbir and reciting verses from the Holy Qur’an.

He later observed Subhi (dawn prayer) at the airport after which he made his way to the mini-palace at Nassarawa.

In response to Ado Bayero’s action, Governor Yusuf ordered his immediate arrest, saying he was causing confusion in the state.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on his behalf, Yusuf said Ado Bayero was smuggled into Kano city in an attempt to forcefully return to the palace two days after being sacked.

Soldiers moved into the palace at Nasarawa, where the 15th Emir resides after the order of the governor.

Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, Deputy Governor of Kano, had accused the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, of facilitating the return of the dethroned Emir.

While at the at the Emir’s palace in Gidan Rumfa on Saturday, Gwarzo alleged that the NSA released two jets to bring Ado Bayero to Kano.

He said, “The National Security Adviser gave two jets to bring the dethroned emir to Kano and to bring him to the place. We have not understood their intention.”
